Pathfinder - Server Virtualisation
Claus will talk briefly about the development of server virtualisation from its inception in the 1960s as a way of sharing scarce resources, through improving the competitive standing of Unix machines in the 1990s, VMWare and consolidation in the early 2000s, to its current status as the foundation of Cloud Computing. Claus will also address the the approach of the storage vendors to complement server virtualisation.He will focus on the key questions IT Managers should be asking as vendors push virtualisation.
