Oxfordshire County Council

The Oxfordshire County Council in Southeast England employs more than 6,000 people in over 290 schools. Printing issues were a major problem with many support calls. With conflicting drivers, printouts were coming out of wrong locations, potentially compromising student confidentiality. Support was spending 2-3 days a week updating drivers and rebooting servers. He worked with Microsoft but came to the conclusion he needed a third-party solution. ICT reviewed several solutions and decided on triCerat's ScrewDrivers. Since installation in November 2006, Oxfordshire has seen support calls from 20+ a day to just an occasional call in regards to printing.

T. D. Williamson, Inc.

As it was rolling out MetaFrame XP, T.D. Williamson’s IT department discovered that a range of advanced printing features were not working in its test environment; including terminal services and the new printers TDW was about to implement were among those with known issues. Citrix’s universal print driver was short on functionality and rejected as an option, as was installing, testing, and supporting print drivers on TDW’s servers.
Simplify Printing was selected as the ideal solution for TDW’s printing problems. It eliminated the need for installing and supporting print drivers on servers, and lets end users print with full functionality from any printer. Simplify Printing was installed with minimal effort on TDW’s servers.

With over 450 employees working at various locations and at events in other remote locations throughout the US, a large number of business functions are dependent upon this infrastructure. As business grew, the everyday task of printing invoices, event materials, and other related documents became extremely problematic. By shrinking the time and effort required for administering its servers, Simplify Printing gave Blue Plate’s IT team the incentive and time to expand its Terminal Server environment.

Kontorsplatsen Business Group AB is an application solution provider based in Sweden that specializes in terminal server solutions for small and mid-sized businesses. As a company dealing with external users, Kontorsplatsen needed to add each customer’s printer driver to every one of their servers. Within a week of installing Simplify Suite, print problems dropped significantly. This all but eliminated support calls, which allowed the technical engineers to focus on fine tuning server performance, further developing their hosting environment, and addressing other important projects.
