New Jack Sets the Standard
Excel has expanded its Category 6A screened solution with the introduction of a re-engineered low profile version of its already popular keystone toolless jackExcel Networking Solutions, the award winning copper and optical cabling infrastructure provider, has expanded its Category 6A screened solution with the introduction of a re-engineered low profile version of its already popular keystone toolless jack.
The brief to designers was to provide a low profile connector offering integrators a quick and easy way to terminate product, combined with excellent performance, and the smallest depth in the market. The result is a product which quite simply sets new standards on all fronts.
As the saying goes, size matters, taking on board challenges being experienced by many system designers and installation engineers, the new Excel jack comes in at just 28.3mm deep, some 10% shallower than its closest rival depth wise.
The overall dimensions of the jack are 16.2mm wide x 28.3mm deep x 21.5mm high.
This reduced depth, together with the strain relief feature, built into the butterfly termination clamp, allows for entry from top, rear, sides and below.
In addition all of the great features of the Excel Category 6A Screened Toolless Jack, including the high quality die cast housing, 360o screening and butterfly opening, remain as part the product design.
A standard requirement of any Excel Category 6A product is third party verification, we only work to the most stringent standard. Our new low profile jack is no exception, designed, manufactured, and verified by Delta to the Augmented Category 6/Class EA specifications as defined in ISO 11801 2nd edition amend 1 and ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 this jack offers performance way above published standards, right down to 5 metre lengths when installed with Excel Category 6A screened cables.
Excel believe this jack which will set new benchmarks in the market for size – it’s the smallest on the market, for flexibility – multiple entry and reduced depth for ease of install, and for performance - third party verified to ISO 11801 2nd edition with incredible performance in the field over even the shortest of runs.
Commenting on the new module Simon Robinson, Excel Product Manager said ‘We have listened to customer feedback and the market requirements and taken our highly popular Excel 6A Screened Toolless Jack and reduced the depth, without compromising on the performance, to allow even greater ease of installation, particularly into confined spaces such as shallow back boxes, floor boxes and anywhere that space is an issue, such as data centre environments’.
The new Excel Category 6A Screened Toolless Jack (P/N 100-181) is compatible with a range of standard and angled shutters and faceplates, and with patch frames with either 16 or 24 port density available in black or chrome. These products will be available from stock from 27th June 2011.
As an addition to the range, the current standard depth, and angled Excel Category 6A keystone jacks will continue to be available.

Excel Brings Intelligence to Your Power Requirements
New range of Managed and Monitored PDUs LaunchedExcel Networking Solutions, the copper, optical cabling infrastructure and enclosure’s provider, has introduced a new range of Intelligent Power Distribution Units (PDUs) in a choice of two options – Managed and Monitored.
Both varieties allow the total electrical current to be measured via the Local Area Network (LAN) using a standard web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc). The software and web browser are housed within the unit enabling a simple LAN connection to be made without the requirement for any additional hardware. The addition of sensors allows for the monitoring of conditions local to the power strip, specifically for Temperature and Humidity, Smoke, Water and Door Opening.
The Managed version includes enhanced features enabling a user with relevant access permissions to monitor, control and manage the power of equipment in a cabinet or comms/data room from anywhere on the LAN or via the internet. Power can be managed and controlled at socket level, either on a real time basis or by configuring a timed on/off. A further feature is the ability to switch sockets on or off sequentially, at user defined internals, to prevent a power surge.
Both the Managed and Monitored options provide real time monitoring including total current, individual socket current load, individual on/off state and system operating state.
Commenting on the new product range, Simon Robinson, Excel Product Manager, says, “With the introduction of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme Order in 2010, businesses will require the closer measurement of energy consumed. Excel has been supplying standard PDUs for over 10 years and is therefore well placed to bring an intelligent range to market. With the choice of the Managed and Monitored varieties we are providing a range to suit different power and budget requirements, all under the trusted Excel brand.”
Robinson continues ”The Excel Intelligent Managed PDU range will also be perfect for companies with remote locations and will save considerable costs of having to send an engineer to site for simple tasks such as rebooting equipment.”
The Excel Managed and Monitored PDUs are offered with a choice of socket types to suit vertical mounting within cabinets or wall mounted. A horizontal unit, taking up only 1U of space in the cabinet, providing 8 x C13 + 4 x C19 sockets, is also available in the Managed PDU range, perfectly suited to the smaller, remote office installation. Multiple units may be linked together via infrastructure cabling thus requiring only one IP address for access and monitoring.

Chatsworth CPI Adjustable ServerRack
The adjustable ServerRack provides a sturdy, cost-effective solution for supporting rack-mount network, computer server and data storage equipment
The adjustable ServerRack provides a sturdy, cost-effective solution for supporting rack-mount network, computer server and data storage equipment in data centers, computer equipment rooms and other IT facilities. The ServerRack offers the strength and stability of an enclosure in an open four-post frame that provides easy access to equipment and cabling.
Each rack will support up to 2,000 lb (907.2 kg) of equipment. The corner posts are C-shaped equipment mounting channels that provide front and rear support for 19" wide rack-mount equipment or shelves. The front and rear frames are welded to reduce assembly time. Four brackets connect the front and rear corners of the rack. The rack is available in four heights and four depth ranges. The front-to-rear depth of the mounting channels can be adjusted up to 5.91" (150 mm) in depth in .98" (25mm) increments during assembly. The mounting channels are fixed in place once assembled to surround and protect equipment.
The Adjustable ServerRack has square-punched holes that let you change mounting hardware (cage nuts) to match specific computer server and data storage equipment mounting requirements. It is marked and numbered on the channels making it easy to locate and position equipment. A second set of holes along the sides of the channels lets you add optional side-mounted Equipment Support Rails that use no additional rack-mount space.
